Due to the expansion project, the annual Friends' Book Sale
will be held in the fall this year:
October 12, 13, and 14.
The 2012 Book Sale will be held at the Avon Library's brand-new Community Room!

The Friends are able to accept your donations of very gently used, clean hardcover and paperback books, CDs, DVDs, audio books for the annual sale. Through experience, we do not accept certain items that don't sell at the sale.
Items we DO NOT accept:
Reader's Digest Condensed Books
Textbooks
Encyclopedias
Hardcover fiction without a dust cover
Business books written prior to 2008
Computer books written prior to 2008
Travel guides written prior to 2008
Magazines (including National Geographic)
Comic books
Books that are highlighted or underlined
Books with pages missing, have a musty smell, or have broken spines
Videos (VHS)
Cassette tapes (music or books on cassette)
Puzzles or games
Badly worn books
The Friends of the Library want to give a huge thank you to John Carmon and his family for providing space for our book sorting activity. Without a space to sort the book donations that are the basis of the annual Book Sale, the Friends would have a very difficult time holding the sale in May. Book Sale 2009 made over $18,500 and all the profits are given back to the library in the form of programs, and various gifts to enhance the Library experience. The Carmon family's generous support of the Friends and the Library is greatly appreciated.
