One Book, One Valley

One Book, One Valley:

The libraries of the FarmingtonValley will read Girls of Tender Age by Mary-Ann Tirone Smith this spring. Each library will hold book discussions and other events in March and April. Our book discussion will be on March 22 with Professor Aimee Pozorski. The series will culminate with an author visit at the Avon Senior Center on April 24, 2007 at 7:00 pm. Join us in reading this book during the winter. Copies of the book will be available to borrow at each participating library. This program is funded by the Lloyd David and Carlyle Cannon Wattis Foundation.

March 19, 2007, Professor Andrew Walsh, Hartford Studies Dept., Trinity College, will be speaking on the history of Hartford in the early part of the 20th century. Canton Public Library, 7 p.m.

April 12, 2007, Judy Karasik, co-author of "The Ride Together: a Brother and Sister's Memoir of Autism in the Family," will speak. Books will be available for sale. Canton Public Library, 7 p.m.
