The Storytime Program at the Avon Free Public Library
Developed by the staff and based on early childhood literacy principles, our program seeks to serve the greatest number of children in the best possible environment.
On some days we accomplish great educational goals, and on some days we can’t get past a story and a game. It all depends on good listening, parent cooperation, and kids' moods.
Sessions of required enrollment are followed by alternating drop-in sessions. If we are approaching an enrollment session, the storytime registration form will be available for you to print out, fill out and then bring to the library before the deadline date.
If we are having a drop-in session, you can view dates and times from “What’s Happening.” Some drop-ins are at 11 a.m. Always check.
Historically, we have run 3 enrollment sessions and 3 drop-in sessions per year. If you are wait-listed, you get a first chance at the next session if your preferred dates and times match what is available. We rotate different ages to different days each
session. The start times are normally 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., but these are subject to change during drop-in periods.
Over 1,000 children enjoy storytime each year! Be in a group!
