Part-Time Library Assistant
Part-Time position at the Circulation Desk, 23 hours/week including one evening and one Saturday rotation. Candidates will also be considered for substitute positions.

Full-Time Reference Librarian
The Avon Public Library is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, tech-savvy professional to join our Reference team. This is full time position with a wide range of responsibilities. We are in the final phase of completing our major building renovation. The Reference Department will now include a new Computer Center, a new Local History room showcasing our collection, along with more space and resources for the community. The ideal candidate will have a sense of humor, a dynamic personality that enjoys interacting with the public, a love of reading, an ease with technology and a commitment to connecting the library to the community.

Responsibilities include reference assistance, collection development, readership promotion, technology instruction and troubleshooting, program planning and community outreach.

Minimum requirements for the position are a Master’s Degree in Library Science and two years of progressively responsible experience in library work. The salary for the position is $47,910 ($24.5692/hour) with all applicable benefits, based on 37.5 hours a week, including nights and weekends.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Avon Free Public Library

Library Volunteers
Volunteers help answer the phone, assist with new book processing, maintain the order and appearance of our collections, help in the Children’s room, prepare crafts, and compile mailings.
Adults interested in volunteering should read the Volunteer Policy, then complete a Volunteer Application Form and bring it to the library.
