PLAYAWAYS are a newer format for listening to books. They are “ready-to-go” audiobooks, with content pre-loaded on a tiny player, they never expire, and are simple to use. They are packaged in a case similar to a videocassette case, and use AAA batteries. You need a set of earbuds (earphones) to use them. If you don’t have your own set of earbuds, you can purchase a set at the Library’s checkout desk for $1.00 and then you can use them any time you check out a PLAYAWAY. The original starter collection of Playaways was purchased by the Friends of the Avon Library. |
