Changing Land, Changing Wildlife (Virtual Program)

As the look of Connecticut’s landscape has been altered over time, the state’s flora and fauna have also undergone change. Find out how natural phenomena and human activity have impacted plant and animal communities and diversity over the past 500 years.
Jay Kaplan is the long-time director of Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton. He is a past president of the Hartford Audubon Society and the Connecticut Ornithological Association, and remains active with both groups, chairing the COA’s Avian Records Committee that evaluates reports of rare birds in the state. He also serves as a director for the Canton Land Conservation Trust and is a member of Canton’s Conservation Commission.
