Edible Wild Mushrooms of Connecticut (Virtual Program)
Monday September 19 at 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Learn about the choice, wild edible mushrooms that can be found in Connecticut. Karen Monger of The 3 Foragers will guide us through the mushroom hunting seasons and teach us about the earthy morels of spring, golden chanterelles of summer, and abundant maitakes of autumn, along with more species you may have never heard about!
The 3 Foragers are a family from southeastern Connecticut that have worked with libraries, nature centers, summer camps, garden clubs, land trusts, and private citizens since 2016 to introduce people to the wonderful world of wild edible plants and fungi of Southern New England. Their blog, Facebook page, and book all focus on family-friendly, environmentally sustainable harvest of wild plants and fungi, and ways to incorporate these foods into your diet with original recipes.
Registration is required for this Zoom program. Zoom links will be sent out the day before the program.
This event is co-sponsored by The Avon Land Trust, Inc.
