
(In-Person Event) Floating Palaces, the Classic Liners

The program will review the origins of ocean travel beginning in the 1840s to today’s passenger ships. The development of the classic liners such as the Lusitania, Mauretania, Titanic and the Cunard “Queens.” Also covered will be the wartime service in WWI and WWII of these great ships. Included will be the liners of tragedy which is part of the story.
Presenter: Rick Abramson and his wife Christine have traveled on the QE2 and twice on the Queen Mary 2. In the presentation, Rick will include various photos he took of the QM2. Hopefully, many of you will join us on this “cruise through ocean liner history.”
