IGNITE Take & Make bag: DIY water powered bottle rocket launch on 8/5!

Thursday, August 5 at 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This program is full, but spectators are welcome to watch the rocket launching (socially distanced) on the library lawn.

 

This program is for kids and teens entering Grades 5-12.

Our activity:

This is an in person event on: Thursday 8/5, 4:00-5:00PM, where we will launch the water powered bottle rockets to see how high they can fly! Friends and family can socially distance and watch how high your rocket can go.

Rain date: Friday 8/6, 4:00-5:00PM.

How do I participate?

 

Who can sign up: kids and teens in Grades 5-12

When signing up, choose which date you will pick up your take and make bag:

Thurs. 7/22, between 10am-7pm  or Sat. 7/24, between 10am-1pm from the 2nd floor Children’s Department, or email mhicking@libraryconnection.info to arrange a contactless pickup from the superhero decorated cart inside the front doors of the library.

What is in the bag? We provide the instructions and most of the supplies (cardboard, clay, duct tape, string).

You provide a 1 or 2 liter bottle and follow the directions to build your rocket!

Everyone who signs up for this activity kit is registered for the in person event on Thursday 8/5, from 4:00-5:00PM.

Space is limited for this program. Please pick up your take and make bag on the day you signed up for.

 

What is the Ignite Club?

IGNITE = Inspiring Girls IN Technology Exploration
Session for Girls only, grades 7-12: A technology focused program that empowers teen girls by teaching you a different skill and project each month. Then you get to turn around and help teach other teens how to do it.
