Avon Community PRIDE Block Party will be Thurs. June 6th, from 4-7pm.
From 4-6pm we will have a Pride Cabaret, hosted by local CT drag queen, Summer Orlando.
What is a Pride Cabaret?
Pride Cabaret is like an Open Mic Night. This is a chance for you to express yourself through song, comedy, poetry, dramatic scene, read your own words, or anything to your heart’s desire!
We want you to sign up and add your sparkle to our event.
Who can sign up?
People of all ages are welcome to sign up for an up to 5 minute slot of time maximum.
Children, teens, and adults are welcome to sign up! You can sign up by yourself, or sign up to do something with a group of friends.
If you plan on signing up with a group of people, we ask for 1 main contact person to sign up and share contact information.
What should I do at the Pride Cabaret?
Content can include poetry, comedy, and music. Must be kept under 5 minutes maximum.
When registering, we ask you to share what you plan on doing, and be as specific as possible.
For example, IF you are reading a poem, what poem/written by who?
To participate in open mic night there must be no hate speech, which can result in being asked to leave this event.*
