Set during World War II in Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia, a childless couple, The Cizeks, can only watch while the Jewish family they work for, the Wieners, are sent to a concentration camp. Years later the only surviving member of the Weiner family returns to the Cizeks and asks to be sheltered. Knowing that harboring a Jew is punishable by execution, the Cizeks face a decision that was a reality in many parts of 1940’s Europe. Shown with subtitles. Rated PG-13, 1 hour 57 min.
After each film, a discussion will be led by Bob Kagan, Professor of Communication at Central Connecticut State University and the University of Hartford. Snacks to share are appreciated!
