This program introduces students entering grades 5-7 to core engineering principles through hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, including Tinkercad and Onshape.
By engaging with real-world design challenges, students will explore the engineering design process.
What will happen in this class?
Students will come up with ideas, build and test their models, and learn how to use CAD software.
This will help students build important skills like spatial thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, and spark their interest in engineering.
This program will be taught by local Avon student as part of their Capstone Project for graduation from Avon High School.
Avon Free Public Library staff will help facilitate this program and be present in the room.
This program is generously funded by the Friends of the Avon Free Public Library.
