
Meditation Healing Time

Dr. Manish Saggar an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine has been practicing meditation for many years. He will discuss how meditation can improve our physical, and mental health. This evening you will have a chance to practice this simple technique that can reduce stress, enhance relaxation and promote inner growth.
Presenter : Dr. Manish Saggar is an Asst. Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine. His research focuses on the intersections of cognitive science, neuroimaging, and computational modeling. He is also a member of Stanford’s School of Design teaching team, actively involved in design thinking principles and their relation to mental health. Dr. Saggar loves to meditate– and even more, to talk about it. In line with his passion for meditation, and as part of his computer science doctoral work at the University of Texas at Austin, he developed a computational model of brain processes underlying meditation training. A meditator for 20 years, Dr. Saggar has presented his research and experiences to both public and professional audiences around the country.
