New York Underground: Virtual Travel Program
Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Find out about the secret places under the streets of New York City that people don’t realize exist. Some of these include the Mole People who live in the tunnels of Grand Central Terminal, the secret tunnels of Chinatown that were home to many gang wars, the great water system that lies beneath our feet, the perils involved in building the subways and vehicular tunnels, the beautiful art work that is displayed below ground, the special tunnel built by August Belmont for the Steinway Piano Company and many more fascinating things.
Meet Art & Susan, our presenters: Twelve years ago Art and Susan began volunteering as tour guides for Big Apple Greeters of New York City, and subsequently started their own tour business.
Both Susan & Art are licensed New York City Tours Guides, Radio Talk Show Hosts, authors of a book about New York City, have appeared on several cable T.V. shows including the “History Channel”, “Travel Channel” and several international channels. They are both former teachers and now are certified to teach teachers New York City history. Additionally, they are training tour guides to help them broaden the scope of what tours they can offer (The Zuckerman’s offer 93 different ones). Some noteworthy accomplishments since beginning this second career and avocation are available here.
Please register and a Zoom link will be sent out before the event.
