Qigong for Respiratory and Immune System Health Morning Session

Qigong is the modality of Chinese Medicine that balances and strengthens the physical and energetic systems of the body by regulating body, breath, and mind. This webinar will include three easy to learn practices that gently improve breathing capacity and function, massage and release tissues surrounding the lungs including the diaphragm (the primary muscle used to breathe), and strengthen the lymphatic system (which plays an integral role in the immune functions of the body). Performed in a smooth and continuous manner (similar to Tai Chi) these movements also relax the nervous system (to reduce stress and anxiety) and can be practiced either standing or sitting.
This webinar is intended for adults (16 and older) but supervised younger children and teens may also benefit from attending. Anyone with severe medical conditions, major injuries, and/or serious mental health issues should consult with appropriate health care providers before attending.
Certified Instructor Don Myers has 35 years of experience as a practitioner and teacher of Tai Chi, Qigong/Neigong, and Taoist Meditation methods. His main teacher is Taoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis (founder of Energy Arts). Don resides in Simsbury and is the owner of Great Pond Tai Chi. He also happens to be a Saturday Reference Librarian at AFPL.
