Tai Chi & Qigong: Five Energy Exercises for Life (Evening Sessions)
Monday, June 8 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Monday, repeating until Monday, June 29, 2020
Qigong is the modality of Chinese Medicine that balances and strengthens the physical and energetic systems of the body by regulating body, breath, and mind. Five Energy Exercises for Life are superior Qigong methods for relieving stress and maintaining health. These easy to learn methods include:
- Longevity Breathing for respiratory system health, as well as relaxation and internal awareness,
- Qi Scanning to develop body alignments and release energetic blockages,
- three gentle movements from Dragon & Tiger Medical Qigong which activate and balance the acupuncture meridians, and loosen tight muscles and connective tissue.
It is most beneficial if you can attend the entire series of four classes, since some new material will be covered in each, but there will be review in every class. These exercises can be practiced either standing or sitting. These classes are intended for adults (16 and older) but supervised younger children and teens may attend. Anyone with severe medical conditions, major injuries, and/or serious mental health issues should consult with appropriate health care providers before attending.
Certified Instructor Don Myers has 35 years of experience as a practitioner and teacher of Tai Chi, Qigong/Neigong, and Taoist Meditation methods. His main teacher is Taoist Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis (founder of Energy Arts). Don resides in Simsbury and is the owner of Great Pond Tai Chi. He also happens to be a Saturday Reference Librarian at AFPL.
Please register once; you will receive a Zoom link for all four of these sessions.
