“The Rise of the House of Sylvester: the story of the domestic cat,” is about the origin of the domestic cat, how it was worshiped by some civilizations and societies and demonized by others, to its world-wide spread and success as a pet, and the impact that has on humans and wildlife.
Presenter: Maureen Heidtmann is a Certified Wildlife Conservationist and licensed wildlife caretaker for the state of Connecticut. Her focus is on the conservation of bats, but the health of all wildlife is of major importance to Maureen, and domestic cats have a huge impact on wildlife.
