The United Nations: What it means to us and to the World
The UN celebrates its 75th anniversary this  month, October, 2020. What exactly is this organization, created in the aftermath of WWII, that now has 193 nation state members? What accomplishments, failures, future aspirations? These topics, explored by our CT Board members and others, will address  timely UN issues. Questions and concerns will be welcomed.
The program will include a panel of individuals who have been engaged with the United Nations around the world, addressing such issues as
UN Diplomacy ( Dr Sergei Kambalov)
UN Communications (Dr Robert Petrausch)
Climate; a Vision in Action (Mark Scully) UNESCO,
Surviving Human Trafficking (MS Barbara Bacewicz)
UNICEF, Our Children, our Future (Attorney Terri Brennan)
The Pandemic, WHO: Steps Forward (Mike Beard).
A short film on the UN will be narrated by Connecticut actor, playwright and human rights activist James Naughton.
Please register and a Zoom link will be sent before the event.
