Grace Needs Space Graphic Novel Discussion with Ben Wilgus and Rii Abrego

What will we do at the event? Hear about and discuss the graphic novel Grace Needs Space with creators Ben Wilgus and Rii Abrego. We will meet in-person at the library and use the magic of Zoom to meet with them!

When and where is the meeting? Thursday, 4/27 @ 5:00 – 6:00 pm, the Library, 2nd Floor Board Room

Are you in Grades 4-6 and LOVE graphic novels? Are you interested in science fiction story about summer vacation and family? Do you want to hear about how a graphic novel is created?


How does this work:
1. Sign up for this event online.

2. Books will be available starting on Thursday, April 6th.
Pick up your book within 5 days of either Thursday, April 6th or from the date of registering.

3. Read the book, show up to the event in person, and you get to keep the book!*

*The rule is if you miss the meeting, you have to turn your book back in, to be fair.

We will have 10 copies of the book with a bookplate signed by the author and illustrator.


What is this book about?

Benjamin A. Wilgus is a bestselling, Ignatz Award-winning writer of comics and prose, who tells emotionally intimate stories about small people in a big world. His most recent solo work is Chronin, a graphic novel duology. He’s also written two works of graphic non-fiction: The Mars Challenge and Flying Machines: How the Wright Brothers Soared.

Rii Abrego is a Latina artist who resides in the very green, very humid southern USA. Rii specializes in comics and illustration and has also worked in toy design, apparel, merchandise, and more.
