Bridget de Moura Castro, Piano

Bridget de Moura Castro received degrees from The Universities of Reading, London (England) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth in addition to a graduate certificate from the Liszt Academy in Budapest where she studied piano, organ and clarinet. During three years in Rio de Janeiro she taught at the Catholic University, was pianist for the National Radio Orchestra, forming a duo with French flutist Odette Ernest Dias. In Fort Worth for 10 years she was pianist with the Fort Worth Symphony and taught clarinet at Texas Christian University. Currently she directs the music at Our Lady of Sorrows church, Hartford, maintains a small piano studio in Hartford besides giving many recitals in the Connecticut area.

Jan Oliver Homann, Oboe 

Jan Oliver Homann teaches oboe at Central Connecticut State University and the University of Bridgeport, as well as coaching woodwinds and teaching music theory at the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven. He performs as a freelance oboist throughout Connecticut and is Principal Oboe of the New Britain Symphony Orchestra. Oliver holds degrees from Northwestern University (BM), Yale University (MM) and City University of New York (DMA). His doctoral thesis covered the life’s work of Franz Joseph Rosinack (1748-1823), an eighteenth century oboist and arranger who worked for the Fürstenberg Court in Donaueschingen, Germany. He has additional studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim. Before coming to Connecticut Oliver performed for several years in Mexico, with the Orquestra Sinfonica de Aguas Calientes and the Filarmonica del Bajio in Guanajuato.

Lisa Homann, Violin

Lisa Homann grew up in Mainz, Germany where she received her early musical training.  As a young musician Ms. Homann pursued private violin lessons as well as regular participation in the Rheinland State Youth orchestra.  She went on to study violin in Düsseldorf, at the Robert-Schumann-Conservatory.   In 1992 she moved to the United States and entered the master’s degree program in orchestral studies at the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is where she met her husband, Oliver Homann.  In 1996 the young couple moved to Connecticut where Ms. Homann became involved in teaching: for over 25 years she has directed the strings program for the public school district in Monroe.  In addition to an active freelance schedule, Ms. Homann is a regular member of symphony orchestras in New Haven and New Britain.  Lisa lives in New Haven with her husband and two daughters.
