Book Buddies Winter 2025 Little Buddies

Parents: sign up your child to be a Little Buddy!

Little Buddies must currently be in Grades K, 1, 2, or 3!

This program will meet 4 times:

We will meet IN PERSON AT THE LIBRARY from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Dates: Thursdays, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27, 3/6

Registration required, space is limited.

Signing up for Thurs. 2/13 signs you up for ALL 4 days.

Due to high demand, please sign up only if your child can attend all 4 sessions.

Children will be paired up with a teen Big Buddy to read with and be read to.

We will end all our sessions with a fun (slightly) messy art activity that the teens and children complete together.

Fall 2024 Book Buddies: sign up for Big Buddies!

Teens in Grades 7-12 can sign up to be a Big Buddy!

Are you a teen who needs volunteer hours? Do you like volunteering with little kids? Book Buddies is for you!

What is Book Buddies?

Big Buddies are teen volunteers in Grades 7-12. You will get paired with your own Little Buddy in Grades K-3.

What do we do? We meet, read together, and we do an art project each week. 

Dates: Time: 4:30-5:30 PM for 4 Thursdays on the following dates:

9/26, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24

*We ask Big Buddies to arrive 15 minutes early to gather books to read with their buddy*

 

Registration required. When you register you sign up for all four Book Buddies dates!

 

New Buddies must attend a 45 minute orientation. 

Choose one date to attend:

Thursday, September 12, 4:30-5:15 pm

Or Thursday, September 19, 4:30-5:15 pm

New Big Buddies or past Virtual Big Buddies: need to take the in person orientation. You will go through a quick training which includes learning the layout out the Children’s floor and where to find the best books for your Little Buddy. 

If you were a Big Buddy in a session from Spring ’22 – Spring ’24: you don’t need an orientation.
