The Avon Free Public Library presents the Spring Chess Club!
Select Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m., enter the Children’s Department Art Studio and begin your journey through the world of chess, a fun strategy game played all over the world. Learn to command your forces, protect your king, and rule the board. Play against your peers at varying levels, with fun challenges each week! Be a good sport, and have fun!
This spring, fall into the whimsical world of Wonderland with V.R. Parton’s Alice in Wonderland-inspired chess challenges! Each week, these challenges will turn the first half of Chess Club into a madcap party, where players might find all their known rules falling down the rabbit hole!
Note: While beginners are welcome, this is not a chess class. Please be aware that the supervisor for this activity will not be teaching chess basics, and your child may find it difficult if they do not understand the basics already.Â
