The first 12 kids who sign up and attend this program will get a free Advance Reader Copy of the book! Limited space & copies available.
If you are on the waitlist and you get your own copy of the book (from another library or purchase a copy) you can attend.

Who is the event for? This group is only for those in grades 4, 5, and 6.

This is based on the content and interest level of the books being read and not reading level.  The group is intended to allow peers in the same grade/age group to discuss books together. There is a strong focus on peer interaction and opinion based discussion and sharing of ideas.

What is this book about?   

A novel written in poetry verse, Good Different explores the life of Selah. Selah knows her rules for being normal. She always, always sticks to them. This means keeping her feelings locked tightly inside, despite the way they build up inside her as each school day goes on. She has to tear off her normal-person mask the second she gets home from school, and listen to her favorite pop song on repeat, trying to recharge. Selah feels like a dragon stuck in a world of humans, but she knows how to hide it.
Selah comes to understand that different doesn’t mean damaged, and we join her on her journey of self discovery.
