Nutmeg Narwhals Book Club

This month we will read Wind Riders: Rescue on Turtle Beach by Jen Marlin and Izzy Burton.
This book discussion is for children entering grades 2-3. Nutmeg Narwhals is a book club that meets approximately once a month where we discuss elementary Nutmeg nominees! At each meeting we discuss the book and engage in an activity related to the book.
When: Tuesday, July 25th
Where: In person at the library, 2nd Floor Storytime Room
Who: For children entering grades 2-3.
Monday, July 3rd: registration begins and books will be available for pick-up. (We are closed for July 4.)
We ask that you come in to pick up your book within 5 days of registration.
How do I join the club?
- Sign up for this event online. Registration opens on Monday, July 3.
- Pick up the book from the 2nd Floor Kid’s Desk. Hours: Mon.-Thurs. 10-8:30 PM, Fri. & Sat. 10-1 PM.
- Read the book and bring it to the meeting on July 25. (Books must be returned on the day of the book club meeting)
- If you’re unable to attend the meeting for any reason, please let us know and return your book ASAP to the Avon Library children’s desk.
*Please note that Nutmeg Narwhal discussion books must be returned to the Avon Library. They cannot be returned to other libraries.
About Wind Riders: Rescue on Turtle Beach by Jen Marlin and Izzy Burton:
Max and Sofia are ordinary kids enjoying their summer, until one day they discover an abandoned boat: Wind Rider! This magical boat takes them to a surprise destination where they discover the sea turtles need help! Will they be able to save the sea turtles, and make it back to where they came from?
