Returning by popular demand, these free concerts are made possible by the Friends of The Avon Free Public Library and the leadership of Francine Hunter, who has been organizing this series since at least 2017. We salute her love of music and the Avon Free Public Library.
The concerts take place in the library’s Community Room. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis with a space limit of 150 seats (per fire code). Free tickets are available at the door starting at 2:15 pm. Doors open at 2:30 pm. Concerts are from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Sweet Adeline Holiday Concert celebrating the Friends of AVFPL’s 75th Anniversary
Farmington Valley Chorus is an a cappella ensemble based in Simsbury, CT. We are proud members of Sweet Adelines, International and recently placed in the top 25 at international competition. Come hear us sing Barbershop!
Brass Quintet, Hartford Symphony Orchestra -Jan.11
John Hancock and the Homesteaders (country music) -Jan. 18
John Mayock is a singer, song stylist and writer with deep roots in Folk, Rock and Country music. An accomplished guitarist, who also plays harmonica, mandolin and piano, John has shared the stage with such diverse artists as Greg Allman, NRBQ, Dar Williams and Jonathan Edwards. His live performances reflect the love of music that he possesses, and his repertoire is extensive and unique. Comprised of some of the most in demand players in New England, The Homesteaders are: Dennis Fancher on guitar and vocals, Dennis Cotton on Drums and Jeff Belcher on bass and vocals.
Tamira Azudaligura (piano and violin) -Feb. 8
Originally from Uzbekistan, Tamila has performed as a piano soloist and chamber musician in the US, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Israel, Czech Republic and Kazakhstan. She has been a guest soloist with several orchestras including the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Donbing Shin, violin, is a concert soloist. Program: A journey through 19th and early 20th Century Eastern European tradition from Glinka-Balakirev to Rachmaninov &Tchaikovsky to Swan Lake.
Corbin Beisner (memorial concert with featured classical concert pianist) -Feb.22
Anil A. Mody graduated from Tufts and MIT universities with degrees in mechanical and nu-clear engineering. Anil worked as a nuclear engineer at Combustion Engineering, ABB and finally Westinghouse Electric. Anil had a lifelong love of classical music. Anil’s wife, Amee Mody, Avon Library Board’s VP, designed this event in his memory. Corbin Beisner will pre-sent a classical piano concert of works by Chopin, Devorak and Tchaikovsky.
The O Tunes (sing songs of the 60’s) -March 8
The O-Tones play songs of the 60’s! Including several singers with guitar, piano, bass, and drums, they love the music they play. These musicians have been playing together for a long time and will feature songs of the 60s including such artists as The Temptations, The Su-premes, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, and more.
The KC Sisters and Family -March 22
The KC Sisters, The Queens of Rhythm and Country, are multi-talented, charis-matic, musical sisters who have been featured on on Season 1 of Nickelodeon’s “America’s Most Musical Family and are favorites at musical venues across the Country.

The Friends of The Avon Free Public Library’s volunteer efforts produce events like these, which are supported by their fundraising efforts through Book Sales. Friends also support Library programs not funded by the Library budget. These programs include Sundays at Three Winter Concert Series, Adult Programs of lectures ranging from classical art to films to history; Teen programs; Children’s programs, such as special reading programs, Book Buddies; Crafts Programs and an Annual Ice Cream Social.
