Big Bill ~ Our 27th President


I was born in Ohio and studied at Yale College.  

I then continued my studies at Cincinnati Law School and worked as a Lawyer, Politician, and statesman before I was elected president.  

I helped New Mexico and Arizona to join the United States, becoming the 47th and 48thstates.  

I had the nickname “Big Bill” because I weighed 332 pounds.   

I died of a heart attack when I was 72 and my funeral was the first to be broadcasted on the radio.

During my presidency, I took part in the “Square Deal” and The Russo-Japanese War took place.  

I was the first American to ever win the Nobel Peace Prize and my face is carved into Mount Rushmore.

I was born in Ohio as one of nine children.  

I studied Law at the Albany Law School in New York.  
During my presidency, America became a world power.  

I helped suppress the Boxer Rebellion, helped with the Annexation of Hawaii, and led the US through the Spanish-American War.  

I had a pet parrot named Washington Post.  

I was assassinated on September 6, 1901 by a shot to the stomach at the Temple of Music in Buffalo, NY.

I was born in Ohio and have a rich heritage.  

My great-grandfather signed the Declaration of Independence.  

I studied law and joined the military, serving during the Civil War.  

I am the grandson of the 9thpresident.  

I was the first president to have electricity installed in the White House and I played a big role in the first Pan-American Conference.  

I passed the Sherman Silver Purchase Act and put the first African-American, Frederick Douglass, in a high ranking governmental role.

I was born in New Jersey and am the only President that has been born in that state.  

I was drafted for the Civil War, but paid someone to go in my place.  

I was both the 22nd and the 24thpresident of the United States and am the only president to have my wedding ceremony in the White House. 

During my presidency, I vetoed more bills that any other president.  

I also was given the Statue of Liberty as a gift from France.   

My portrait appeared on the $1000 bill.
