Join us for an in-person program to educate and bring awareness regarding the transgender/gender-expansive population. Jillian will explore topics and issues based on her education, experience in the field, and lived personal experience. The audience will become familiar with what affirming care looks like and the truths and misconceptions of gender affirming care to develop an understanding of the transgender community.

• Gender affirming care for children and adults
• Facing today’s societal struggles and challenges
• Passports and traveling as a transgender person
• Guidance of laws and legislation
• Being culturally sensitive
• Providing resources
About our presenter: Jillian is a transgender woman who began her transition in 2016 at the age of 55. She is a licensed psychotherapist, social worker, and advocate who has organized support groups for transgender/gender diverse children, young adults, and adults. Jillian was a research assistant in the LGBTQ+ relationship studies lab, GSA instructor, and has also co-authored two published transgender studies at Yale University. She is a published author of her book, “Transitioning Later in Life: A Personal Guide.” Jillian is a Medical Educator/Standardized Patient at Yale University and now works at a private practice as a licensed therapist and educator for the transgender/gender expansive community.
